Julius Schlensok’s Homepage

I am a bioinformatics researcher using machine learning methods to deepen our understanding of life.

Currently, I work as a scientific employee in Burkhard Rost’s lab at the TU Munich, and am a visiting researcher in Michael Heinzinger’s group at Helmholtz Munich.

I have a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from the joint LMU & TU Munich program, with an exchange term at the University of Helsinki and a Master’s thesis internship at Helmholtz Munich.

Over the past two years I have mainly been working on predicting and engineering various properties of proteins using foundation models.

I also possess multi-year working experience in IT systems administration, software development, and catering.
